About the Role

We are looking to hire a mid-level tech recruiter, reporting to Drew Majkut, our Head of Talent Acquisition. This is a full-time role.

We are scaling rapidly, and speed and a love of sourcing will be core competencies for success. You are someone who knows not just which companies to source from, but which teams have done the work and who on the team made an impact. And you can get them interested in Bastion.

We are going to be trying something a little different for this role:

  • Base Salary will be $80k to start. Once you make your first four technical hires, we will raise it to $100k.

  • You will be paid $5k per technical hire made.

  • You will get a generous equity grant.

We are anticipating a lot of growth over the coming 12+ months. While we are still formulating exact headcount plans, an exceptional person in this role who delivers for the business could end up earning $200K+.

The cash incentives you to work hard to scale the team; the meaningful equity incentives you to have a 'no problem is too small' attitude. We will co-create what the compensation model in the future looks like.

This role must be based out of our New York City headquarters working in a flexible hybrid-model (come in however often you need to be effective).

Work to be done

Instead of a list of requirements, we want to give you a directional look into the first 30/90/180 days.

By Day 30

  • Get fluent in Bastion’s mission, product, and why-now narrative to pitch credibly to technical talent

  • Learn and document Bastion’s recruiting stack and workflows

  • Stand up consistent intake, outreach, and interview rigor across active roles

  • Outcomes: candidates you have sourced are going into final interviews. You might already have a hire or candidates in the offer stage.

By Day 90

  • Produce reliable top-of-funnel for priority technical roles that can result in at least 2 technical hires a month

  • Improve pass-through by aligning interviews to “work to be done”

  • Make reporting visible to leaders and hiring managers

  • Outcomes: you have made at least 6 technical hires, with a consistent pipeline for more on the way. You have taken ownership of the day-to-day running of the tech recruiting organization.

By Day 180

  • Scale predictable hiring for technical roles while reducing cost and cycle times

  • Introduce structured experiments and continuous improvement

  • Create durable enablement so hiring managers and interviewers move fast with quality

  • Outcomes: you are trusted across the organization to bring us incredible talent: when you speak up and argue on behalf of a candidate, people listen.
