THE POSITION

The Commercial Analyst, Generosity Experimentation will play a pivotal role in establishing an experimentation function within the Sportsbook Commercial team. This role will help to roll out a best-in-class experimentation practice, delivering on needs for data structure, implementation of statistical techniques for measurement and standardization of processes across teams. The Analyst will partner with retention marketing stakeholders and will be responsible for designing and analyzing experiments that help to answer key questions and drive promotional strategy. In addition, the Analyst will have the opportunity to be involved in key strategic initiatives that support FanDuel’s overall growth.

THE GAME PLAN

  • Help build a cross-functional experimentation program, from strategy formation through to day-to-day implementation.
  • Increase team’s understanding of key commercial success metrics as they relate to retention. Use that knowledge to design hypotheses in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Work alongside stakeholders to ensure tests are designed to answer critical questions that inform retention strategy, testing things such as generosity mechanics, audience segmentation models and customer journeys.
  • Partner with Retention Analytics team to prioritize experiments informed by data driven insights, driving optimization of promotion strategy.
  • Perform analysis of experiment outcomes using appropriate statistical approach and provide insights and recommendations for next steps.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • 2+ years experience in an analytical role such as marketing/business analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Math, Statistics, Economics) is preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, including exposure to relevant statistics topics such as hypothesis testing.
  • Experience with SQL required. Experience with statistical programming tools such as Python, R or SAS preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to work through ambiguity and deliver solutions to business problems.
  • Collaborates: is a team player - works with various teams across the organization to understand their needs and get things done.
  • Commercial acumen: understanding of P&L, business principles and commercial levers
  • Presents clearly and with impact to a wide range of stakeholders and keeps stakeholders updated with relevant and timely information
  • A “can-do” attitude and the type of person who constantly looks for solutions and better ways of operating

The applicable salary range for this position is $74,000 - $92,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
