THE POSITION

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Service Framework engineering team in our Core Infrastructure organization. The Service Framework team builds service-level & environment-level tooling, used company-wide to support large-scale & complex microservice architectures across several dozen target deployment locations under unique geographic and regulatory constraints. To support our application engineers, this team defines & supports our microservice communication architecture & patterns: API schemas, protocols, API gateways, service discovery & service mesh implementations, and more.

We are looking for passionate & experienced technologists, strong communicators, and those with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and be eager to both learn from and educate others. In this role you will work amongst multidisciplinary teams, tackling complex problems to create world class infrastructure as we continuously build out our exciting and innovative developer experience.


THE GAME PLAN

  • Ability to work with the team to evaluate and recommend tools for effective service communication and service management to enhance our development processes and streamline integration.
  • Responsible for completing proof of concepts and providing actionable recommendations to optimize our service communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to ensure the timely achievement of high-integrity project deadlines.
  • Partner closely with FanDuel product teams to identify and address service communication challenges and pain points.
  • Understand the ecosystem of FanDuel’s complex development environment with multiple business units.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Proficient in software development languages (e.g. Go, Python, etc..)
  • Experience building microservice based APIs and knowledge of API patterns (OpenAPI, GraphQL, REST, etc..) and associated tools
  • Experience in supporting an API ecosystem (API gateways, etc) and/or service discovery & service mesh implementations
  • Hands-on Public Cloud development (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Resource management and provisioning with Infrastructure as Code (Iac), specifically Terraform
  • Well-versed with a project management and issue tracking tool, such as, Jira
  • Skilled with container technologies (Kubernetes, EKS, Docker)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The applicable salary range for this position is $126,000 - $175,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
