THE POSITION

FanDuel Group is looking to add a Counsel Manager with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to its Product Advisory team to serve as product counsel for FanDuel’s regulated products and to contribute to FanDuel’s efforts to enter new markets and launch new products. This role sits at the exciting juncture of tech/product counsel and regulatory affairs and will directly impact FanDuel’s efforts to expand and improve its product offerings. Opportunity to help elevate revenue driving marketing initiatives at a premier gaming company.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

This position will work with a fantastic team of FanDuel attorneys, regulatory compliance, product, engineering, retail operations and licensing professionals striving to expand FanDuel’s national footprint and improve its product offerings. Reporting to a FanDuel Product Advisory Director Counsel, this role will:

  • Contribute to company efforts to launch skill gaming, daily fantasy sports, pari-mutuel wagering, sports wagering, online casino products and new ventures in new markets;
  • Contribute to efforts to obtain legal and regulatory approval for new product features in existing markets;
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance team members as they strive to ensure compliant product offerings and operational practices;
  • Monitor applicable laws, rules and regulations, as well as industry standards, and advise business and product teams with respect to relevant changes and trends;
  • Provide product counsel to FanDuel’s product and technology teams;
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Provide counsel as needed to wider regulatory or operational initiatives.

Superior analytical, strategic, communication, interpersonal and writing skills are of paramount importance, as is a strong work ethic, commitment to being a team player, and an aptitude to quickly learn the nuances of technology, gaming, and media industries.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • JD from a top-tier law school and member of at least one state bar.
  • At least 3 years of relevant legal experience.
  • In-house experience with an internet/technology company a plus.
  • Experience at a nationally recognized law firm
  • Ability to travel domestically, when required
  • Sound and tested experience exercising judgment including communication, relationships and the accurate presentation of materials required of high-stakes engagements.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Understanding of business priorities and ability to work to meet them.
  • An exceptional team builder and team player.
  • Ability to work independently and out of comfort zone.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues simply in writing and verbally for internal and external audiences.

The applicable salary range for this position is $126,000 - $158,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
