We're growing our Pricing Innovation Engineering team that works on some of the coolest software in the industry - the systems that price betting markets for the major US sports! The team you will join works with quantitative analysts to model pricing for these markets, while proactively identifying opportunities for technical innovation within the Risk and Trading organization. Our stakeholders are the people who establish the odds and prices for the #1 sports book in America!
As an Engineering Manager within Risk and Trading, you’ll be working closely with our Sportsbook engineers day-to-day to support and mentor them as they tackle tough technical challenges within the fast paced and growing Sportsbook environment. You’ll help find opportunities focused on providing the best employee experience while balancing delivery of capabilities that work at scale. You’ll own your software, helping define solutions to problems while mitigating long-term risks. You’ll raise and help mitigate blockers while providing status updates to leadership.
You will have established Software Engineering capabilities. You’re excited to learn how to develop and advance the careers of Engineers and will start out with a small number of line-reports to put your learnings to the test. You’ll be responsible for providing a top of industry employee experience tailored to your line report’s individual needs. You’ll be responsible for leading smaller projects or features within a team. THE GAME PLAN

• Manage, identify, and provide opportunities for Software Engineers.
• Work with Senior Engineers to deliver a technical vision with a focus for performance and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Work with key stakeholders in trading and product to understand the business and deliver towards key objectives that have been set out
• Collaborate with Lead and Principal Engineers and your Senior Software Engineering Manager to shape the technology strategy of the organization
• Manage a team in a high impact, agile, and innovative space – be able to adapt to changing business needs and steer the team through this journey
• Proactively identify technology gaps and opportunities, mitigate risks created through complexity (technical and regulatory).
• Be responsible for delivery of backlog items, communicating blockers and progress through-out the project lifecycle.
• Measure, own, and drive predictability through Operational Excellence and transparency using data and KPIs.
• Own your software, helping guide your team to deliver it whilst providing appropriate support for stakeholders.
• Help scope and define new solutions to problems while influencing the roadmap and ensuring we delivery truly viable features and products.
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
- A strong technology background delivering software as an individual contributor or manager
- Understanding of modern architectures, design patterns, and platform nuances
- Experience in shipping high quality products and services
- Experience of writing distributed highly scalable and available backend systems & APIs
- Communication, presentation and delegation skills
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Demonstrated abilities driving operational excellence and best practices
- Able to communicate technical concepts simply and successfully, to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintains relationships with other disciplines and stakeholders

The applicable salary range for this position is $149,000 - $195,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
