THE POSITION
Our roster has an opening with your name on it

FanDuel is seeking a Product Owner to support the execution and delivery of product initiatives within the New Ventures team, with a focus on FanDuel Predicts, our new prediction markets product. This role is embedded within engineering teams and is responsible for translating product strategy and priorities into clear, delivery-ready requirements that enable teams to build efficiently and at scale.

The Product Owner partners closely with Product Managers, who define the product vision, strategy, and success metrics, while the Product Owner focuses on execution, delivery planning, and day-to-day collaboration with Engineering. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented Product Owner who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in strong delivery discipline.

In this role, the Product Owner owns the operational execution of product initiatives across one or more engineering teams. They are accountable for ensuring requirements are well-defined, sequenced appropriately, and ready for development, while actively managing delivery health, dependencies, and risks.

The Product Owner works closely with Engineering, Design, Product Analytics, and Operations to support the delivery of customer-facing features that enable market discovery, personalization, and data-driven experiences within FanDuel Predicts. By maintaining a high bar for requirement quality and delivery readiness, this role plays a critical part in turning product ideas into reliable, scalable solutions.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Delivery Planning & Execution Ownership: Own the execution of assigned product initiatives by translating product priorities into clear operational delivery plans, including sequencing of work, ownership, timing, and identification of blockers. Ensure product intent is converted into actionable, delivery-ready work for engineering teams.
  • Backlog Ownership & Work Sequencing: Own and maintain a structured, prioritized backlog in Jira. Partner closely with the Engineering Manager to sequence work effectively across sprints, balance technical and product needs, and ensure stories are well-defined, sized, and ready for development. Maintain a consistent standard for story quality, acceptance criteria, and readiness.
  • Requirements Definition & Jira Hygiene: Translate product requirements into detailed, well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria, dependencies, and constraints. Lead backlog refinement and requirement walkthroughs to ensure engineering teams have a shared understanding of the “what” and “why” before work begins. Ensure Jira remains an accurate source of truth for delivery status and scope.
  • Delivery Health & Risk Management: Actively manage delivery of health by tracking timelines, milestones, dependencies, and risks. Monitor progress throughout the sprint and release lifecycle, surface risks early, and work with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to adjust scope, sequencing, or plans as needed. Drive mitigation plans to keep delivery on track.
  • Engineering Partnership & Day-to-Day Team Support: Serve as the primary product execution partner to Engineering. Work closely with Engineering Managers to align delivery expectations, capacity, and tradeoffs. Support teams day-to-day by answering requirement questions, clarifying scope, and unblocking delivery to maintain momentum.
  • Agile Cadence & Execution Discipline: Ensure teams are operating within agreed Agile frameworks and cadences, including refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Support consistent execution practices and continuous improvement in how workflows from idea to delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement & Execution Excellence: Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, requirement quality, and team collaboration. Apply learnings from retrospectives, incidents, and delivery outcomes to continuously raise the bar on execution quality.
  • Team Contribution & Growth: Actively contribute as a collaborative team member by sharing learnings, supporting peers, and participating in team rituals and Agile ceremonies. Demonstrate strong ownership of assigned responsibilities while continuing to develop product management skills, delivery expertise, and domain knowledge.
