The Buydown cost management (BCM) team partners with Operations Finance teams, Global Supply Managers, Business Operations and Contract Manufacturers across the globe to provide operational and analytical support for critical component cost information. This team offers both internal and external exposure, along with the opportunity to learn our products from the ground up. As we continue to transform the team from service provider to strategic business partner, we provide business analytics and advisory to support leadership decision-making and strategy development. We are now seeking a high-caliber Finance Analyst to join our Shanghai-based team.

Description

Reporting to the BCM Manager and partnering closely with global and regional teams, you will support Buydown claim audit, business analysis, cost-saving initiatives and cost recovery efforts through cross-functional partnership and negotiation with external Contract Manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • This is a dynamic role with plenty of room for growth. Responsibilities will include:
  • Complete monthly Buydown claims audit for assigned programs and provide analytics on key cost drivers to improve visibility and decision-making related to business operations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to serve as a BCM liaison between Apple and Contract Manufacturers; identify problems and demonstrate the ability to solve them after data collection, analysis and communication.
  • Optimize the efficiency of current procedures; partner with cross-functional teams to deliver process improvement, automation and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure processes and controls properly align; standardize, simplify and ensure operational excellence.
  • Manage deadlines, timelines and multi-tasking in a complex matrix environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance or accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of the full supply chain cycle from procurement to manufacturing would be favorable. 
  • Familiar with Apple's supply chain or the manufacturing industry with a background in costing; or a willingness and passion to learn.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams independently.
  • Medium to high-level Excel proficiency for processing and analyzing data trends and patterns. Programming, data and process automation experience preferred.
