Apple’s innovative Reliability Engineering team is looking for talents join us working with MacBook development groups.

Description

You’ll be responsible for leading and executing reliability tests on new Apple and supplier technologies, development of new test procedures to quantify the reliability of a design, and drive continuous product improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Guide design and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product reliability
  • Perform statistical analysis to evaluate designs and deliver data-driven risk assessments
  • Present test plans, results, and risk insights clearly to management and executives
  • Develop reliability test procedures, specifications, and comprehensive test plans
  • Research new technologies to identify failure mechanisms and potential failure modes
  • Partner with vendors and labs to conduct validation, testing, and failure analysis
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and provide design input for reliability improvement
  • Communicate technical findings effectively across diverse teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with reliability testing, including mechanical stress and environmental testing
  • Familiarity with industry test standards such as JEDEC, ASTM, and IEEE
  • Experience applying Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies
  • Experience conducting Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
  • Strong troubleshooting capability and the ability to execute testing independently
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience applying structured failure analysis methodologies to identify root causes
  • Solid understanding of mechanical assemblies and system-level interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools, and test methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in the consumer electronics industry
  • Fresh graduates with strong machine learning exposure in those majors are welcome
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools and models such as Weibull analysis, JMP, or accelerated life testing
  • Hands-on experience with dynamic characterization techniques
  • Familiarity with failure analysis tools including optical microscopy, X-ray/CT, SEM/EDS, and FTIR
  • Experience with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for test automation, large-scale data processing, or statistical analysis is a plus
