About the Role
The Telemedicine MD, Convenience Care and Care Programs will be responsible for providing virtual medical care via video visits, asynchronous visits, and patient messaging. This role requires a generalist physician who is passionate about primary care. Initially, visits will be focused on “convenience care,” with the physician addressing straightforward medical issues, alleviating care access challenges for patients. This role will also likely grow in tandem with additional programs Wheel launches in condition management. Candidates must be interested in, with training, reinforcing their clinical knowledge base to provide high-quality clinical care in specific clinical subject areas. Success in this role will require an experienced clinician with a passion for improving access to high quality care and deep experience providing comprehensive care for condition management. It will also require flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
What You'll Do
Provide virtual care via video visits, asynchronous visits, and patient messaging
Provide convenience care for straightforward clinical conditions, e.g. UTIs, acne, birth control, etc.
Over time, begin seeing patients for a set of chronic or more complex conditions as a part of comprehensive longitudinal care programs currently in development, e.g. obesity, menopause
Provide feedback to Wheel regarding program clinical quality, opportunities for improved efficiency, and the provider experience
Become an expert on Wheel’s care programs over time and leverage this knowledge to provide leadership to other clinicians
Work 40 hours / week, 9-5pm, including weekends with 2 dedicated weekday days off per week
Who You Are
MD/DO
Board certified in internal medicine or family medicine
5+ years of clinical practice experience post residency, preferably in primary care setting
2+ years of experience in providing telehealth care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Additional Core Competencies
Experience providing obesity or menopause care a plus, but not required for success in this role
Experience in telehealth or digital health program development a plus
