Technical Program Manager
Tend
We’re Tend — Dental Done Differently.
Tend was founded to make going to the dentist something people actually look forward to. We blend thoughtfully designed studios, top-tier clinical care, advanced technology, and a hospitality-driven mindset to create a dental experience that’s human, personalized, and exceptional from start to finish.
Since launching in 2019, we’ve delivered care to over 100,000 patients across New York, Washington DC, Boston, Atlanta, and Nashville. With thousands of five-star reviews and over 650 passionate team members, Tend is one of the fastest-growing and highest-rated dental brands in the country — and we’re just getting started.
Whether you’re delivering care in our studios or supporting our growth behind the scenes, every role at Tend contributes to reimagining the future of dental health — for patients and for the people who care for them.
We’re growing fast — and we’re looking for values-driven, mission-aligned talent to grow with us.
At Tend, we’re building a dental experience that’s different — one that brings together hospitality, technology, and world-class clinical care. As a Technical Program Manager, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our technology solutions scale alongside our multi-unit service organization. You’ll lead technical programs that power our studios and operations while collaborating with outsourced engineering teams and internal stakeholders.
You’ll join a collaborative, member and team first culture where we celebrate success, stay nimble, and have fun doing hard things together.
What You’ll Do
- Own and manage complex technical programs that support our studios, operational teams, and guest experience.
- Lead partnerships with internal and outsourced engineering teams — setting expectations, managing delivery, and holding teams accountable for quality and results.
- Translate business needs into actionable technical plans, ensuring alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
- Track program progress, manage risks and dependencies, and provide transparent updates to leadership.
- Develop and improve processes that enable scalable, reliable delivery of technology solutions.
- Drive alignment across Technology, Operations, and external partners to support Tend’s growth.
- Consistently achieve results, even in challenging circumstances — staying focused on outcomes that support our team, members, and studios
- Take ownership, speak up about challenges, and act with integrity and authenticity
What You Have
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, ideally supporting multi-unit service businesses (e.g., healthcare, retail, hospitality).
- Experience managing outsourced engineering teams and technology vendors.
- Strong understanding of systems integrations, APIs, and cloud-based solutions (no coding required, but able to connect tech and business needs).
- Ability to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate and align diverse stakeholders (internal teams, vendors, leadership).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills — comfortable managing ambiguity and complexity.
- Familiarity with program management tools like Jira, Asana, or Smartsheet.
- A growth mindset — you seek feedback, reflect, and encourage development in yourself and others (Rooted in Growth / Self-Awareness).
- Appreciation for different backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas (Embrace Our Differences / Values Differences).
