We’re Tend — Dental Done Differently.

Tend was founded to make going to the dentist something people actually look forward to. We blend thoughtfully designed studios, top-tier clinical care, advanced technology, and a hospitality-driven mindset to create a dental experience that’s human, personalized, and exceptional from start to finish.

Since launching in 2019, we’ve delivered care to over 100,000 patients across New York, Washington DC, Boston, Atlanta, and Nashville. With thousands of five-star reviews and over 650 passionate team members, Tend is one of the fastest-growing and highest-rated dental brands in the country — and we’re just getting started.

Whether you’re delivering care in our studios or supporting our growth behind the scenes, every role at Tend contributes to reimagining the future of dental health — for patients and for the people who care for them.

We’re growing fast — and we’re looking for values-driven, mission-aligned talent to grow with us.

At Tend, we’re on a mission to redefine oral health care through hospitality, innovation, and heart. As the People Operations Partner, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our studios and corporate teams across all facets of the employee experience. From onboarding new hires and processing job changes to ensuring accurate HRIS records and payroll support, you’ll help keep our People operations running smoothly so our teams can focus on delivering amazing patient care.

This is a hands-on, detail-focused role that combines operational precision with a service-first mindset, ensuring both accuracy and a positive experience for our people. You’ll be a key partner across our growing network of studios and corporate functions, bringing Tend’s values — Tend to Others, Be Brave Enough to Lead, Savor the Ride, Embrace Our Differences, and Rooted in Growth — to life in every interaction.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the accurate and timely entry, updates, and auditing of employee data in UKG (HRIS), including hires, transfers, compensation changes, terminations, and other key lifecycle events
  • Own and continuously optimize our onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and consistent experience for both employees and managers
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and cross-functional stakeholders to process and track job changes, including promotions, location transfers, and pay adjustments
  • Consistently deliver accurate and timely payroll processing for exempt, non-exempt, and 1099 team members—including audits, reconciliations, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and data integrity standards across all systems and processes
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries with empathy and efficiency, serving as a trusted point of contact for HR systems and process-related support
  • Assist with data reporting and analysis related to headcount, turnover, and other key HR metrics to inform decision-making and track progress
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and IT to support process improvements, systems integrations, and company-wide initiatives that enhance the employee experience and business outcomes

What You Have

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR operations, HRIS administration, or People team support role, ideally in a multi-site or service-based organization
  • Hands-on experience managing HRIS platforms (UKG proficiency required) with a strong focus on data integrity
  • Experience with payroll processes and working with exempt, non-exempt, and 1099 team members across multiple states and locations
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality work
  • Excellent communication skills with a service-oriented approach to working with employees and leaders at all levels
  • Quick to learn, flexible, solutions-oriented, and agile — thrives in dynamic, fast-moving environments
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • High proficiency in Excel with the ability to translate data into clear insights and actionable answers
